Hello. I took the plunge and assembled the equipment necessary to start extract brewing. I figured I would experiment with that for a while and then see about moving toward full grain brewing in the future. I think I've already been bitten by the bug pretty bad. I ordered a chest freezer and Johnson controller this past week to control fermenting temps and now I'm looking in to kegging options.
I've spent a lot of time lurking and reading books over the past six months, but I'm all in now!
I live in Asheville, NC...once known as "Beer City", but we lost our crown this year to St. Paul. We have a ton of local breweries and great shops, so I should be in good company.
If anybody else on the forum is from the Asheville area, send me a pm if you would like to exchange info (ie: help me with any problems!)
