Hello all. I have been using the Mr. Beer kits for a while, but have been wanting to upgrade. As a Christmas gift, my wife let me purchase whatever beer gear I wanted. I started my first large batch Monday with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone.

Welcome, Mississippi!

Don't toss that Mr. Beer keg. It may still be useful for small batches, experimental recipes, mead, apfelwein, etc. It's still a perfectly good fermenter!

I don't plan on tossing the Mr. Beer kit. The wife has demanded that she takes over the Mr. Beer kit for brewing her own experiments. hehe

Don't know how I didn't see your post earlier, I check here every 2-3 days.

Welcome fellow Mississippian!!!

Not a lot of us around, but we are a growing number and even have a few homebrew clubs, none near you though! I'm straight down hwy 12 in the Kosciusko area, recently moved here from Clinton.

Good luck, let me know if I can help, and don't forget to checkout raiseyourpints.org

Schlante,
Phillip
