So first I broke a glass carboy cleaning it but I have a backup so my specs are I don’t wanna spend a bunch of money on a new one and I don’t have the hookups for like a ss model even though I love the way they work but I use a rudimentary system but it works. I do pressure transfers with co2 so I already have the equipment for that for glass carboys should I just buy another glass or is there a similar alternative that also uses a pressure transfer hookup like a fermzilla. And I cold crash by placing my carboys in my keezer so the new vessel has to be able to be lifted into that for cold crashing. I make mostly neipas and ipas so getting the vessel into the keezer to cold crash is a must. The keezer holds 3 kegs so it’s decent size. Thanks for any help.

If you aren't afraid of PET grade plastics, I think a fermonster with modified lid (~$70 all together) or a fermzilla all-rounder (~$80 if you include pressure kit) would suit your needs.

im not afraid of pet lol and I saw some vids where this is like upgraded pet from the original say big mouth bubblers I think that used to break all the time. I really just wanna be able to use a closed transfer system to my kegs since that has helped my neipas our 1000 fold from when I used to bottle. Plus I have to carry this from the garage to the basement where I ferment and I’m sure it’s gotta be lighter than glass. I would love a conical but I just don’t know how u can cold crash em. So thanks for ur recommendation I’ve been looking at the feemonsters.

if considering the fermonsters you might want to check out these two threads:

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/dual-fermentation-systems-build.675134/
https://www.homebrewtalk.com/thread...lete-closed-transfer-system-for-cheap.680992/
The first thread I put up is more of a general overview of the functionality with price list. The second thread give great specific info on how to modify the fermonster to make it a closed system. There are other good threads on this topic as well, but these should give you good info. From my point of view you'd also need a fermonster carrier (straps) as well. I would also look into the fermzilla all rounder. While its pretty much identical in setup as the modified fermonsters, the all rounder is 7.9g and pressure rated as well. Good luck!

I recently bought a Speidel 30l fermenter which I like. I do closed transfers via gravity. A hose fits on the spigot. It’s nice to have a spigot, vs a glass carboy, just for taking samples too.
