I recently brewed yesterday (sunday) a honey weiss and i might/might not have a problem. Within a few hours/over night i had a bubble and now the "bubble" is coming through the airlock and starting to spew out and down the sides. Is this normal? my dad has brewed before and he said that he has never had this problem. His solution would be to use a larger tube like airlock. Any help would be great. thanks in advance.

You are doing great. Your yeast are happy and working well. You may want to replace the airlock periodically to prevent it from getting clogged. If it gets clogged it may blow out the top and make a mess on the ceiling. You can get a blow off tube that will fit into a carboy, if that is what you are using, and that will stop this from happening again.

Blow off tube quick!!! If you let it sit in the air lock it may be come contaminated.

Rig up a blow off tube with a hose going into sanitized water.

yes a blow off tube you attach a sanitized tube that fits then place the end of the tube in a large jar with sanitized solution. You can switch back to the airlock after it settles, sanitized of course. Or just leave the blow off tube on for the remaider of primary.

Don't use 5 gallon carboys for 5 gallon primary fermentation. Always use 6.5 gallon carboys for 5 gallon primary fermentation.
