Hi Everyone,
Just started my first, from a kit, beer. It's a Morgans Amber Ale,
Have had the equipment for ages, just had to get my finger out!
Love the forum! Great info.

Wow New Brunswick..........the far east.
Congratulations on the digit removal, now lets get some beers brewing.:tank:

Thanx! So excited to get a few brews done up. As a Landscaper, beer is an absolute MUST when the season comes around!

Welcome/ Bienvenue! I think you will find that this place will be great for all sorts of knowledge, advice and so on, but also will lead you into the deep reaches of the hobby... the more I learn the more I want to try, the more I want to learn....

Not quite the far east from where I am sitting :D

Used to live in Fredtown. Live in Grand Manan now, I'm originally from the Island.
I was just in Fredericton and picked up supplies. I heard while I was in town that piccaroons will order in supplies, if you are competing in the brew contest that the local brewers are doing. Is that true??

Picked up some stuff at Wine Kitz on Smythe st. I'm surprised that they didn't have more beer making supplies, but I guess everyone is more into wine. So I grabbed a couple of extract kits, a better bottle, corn sugar, caps and airlocks.

Yeah, seems to be the same sob story from all of them at the stores, "no one interested in beer"...blah blah...wine mostly..blah blah...I basically shop at three of the major ones in town, wine kitz, scoup n save, and Noble grape. Everyone carries something the other doesn't, and prices vary. SNS carries more variety of canned kits though, they also carry the brewhouse and brewer springs same as wine kitz do, Noble only carries Festa brew kits for beer, rest is wine...

I've yet to buy and try a better bottle. Lots of ppl rant about them on here, never got around to grabbing one...i got so many glass carboys that i didn't see the need yet i guess. Someday though...

It is a better bottle, from using it the once. Alot easier to handle for me. I couldn't find the Scoop n Save, where is it? Didn't check out Noble Grape either. Maybe next time I'm in town.

Scoop n save is just a bit further down prospect....go through the lights at the smythe intersection, then on the left you'll pass the daily gleaner, then the hotel, and its after that but its in the back sort of...in behind the compu college maybe?? basically accross from wendy's/mark's workwharehouse...Noble is down off regent, in the strip mall that the blockbuster video is in, close to the hospital.

You ever go to the place in SJ....barley malt & vine???? its close to harbour station i know that.. I found them to be really good, selection and prices...

The fredericton Nobel grape may only has those fiesta brews, but they will order anything in from their website from the halifax location, which they tell me is more beer then wine orientated. Once I finish up with my apfelwein and mead I'm going to order a oatmeal stout kit from them, should be fun going from cans of extract to using real hops.

I order most of my keg parts from the Halifax/Burnside Noble Grape location, thru their webpage. They are excellent to work with.

Anyone know of a well stocked HBS in Moncton? I am draggin' the kiddos to Crystal Palace and would like to get some supplies while I am on the other side of the bridge.

plus shipping BTW ;) May as well order it from halifax yourself and have it to your door :mug:

I've been to a few Noble grapes in the halifax area when i was down last year, the one in Burnside Ind. Park is the main and biggest one with pretty much everything, grains, etc....That'd be the one to call and order, and the post office is two doors down from them in the strip mall type building they're in. For heavier items, they'll ship via bus. just some fyi for anyone looking to place orders.

Yup, place over in riverview, its very close to the mall which is very close to crystal palace. I'll try to dig up the name for you.

EDIT: sorry, meant to say Dieppe. Place is called The Brew it Store, and is in dieppe...NOT riverview.....this place is basically accross the street from the mall and crystal palace.

i've ordered some of my keg parts directly from Simgo with good results, which is where noble gets there's...

Good to know! I'll now run off and check the web site. Running madly off in all directions at once and I haven't even bottled the first batch!:drunk:

Holy crap look at all you NB brewers!!

I just get all my stuff from the Noble grape on priestman. its literally 2 minute walk from my building, and they dont seem to charge me for the shipping costs so its basically like they have everything i need i just have to wait. Would definitely like it if there WAS a place that had a lot of stuff on hand, but thats a little much to ask for in this small town. Oh well.
