I'm getting back into home brewing after roughly 20 years of doing this while I was in college. My beer back then was aweful! I am 3 batches into this time. One "kit" which included DME, some grains, and hops. The other 2 batches were all grain. I currently have a Magic Hat #9 clone fermenting.

My setup is a 5 gallon utility SS pot, 8 gallon brew kettle SS pot, 10 gallon igloo MLT (diy built), and a propane turkey fryer.

I am very interested in making an e-HERMS system as I have 2 empty sanke kegs available in my garage.

My 1st patch was an American IPA that turned out "delicious" according to my wife. The 2nd batch was a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale all grain clone that turned out tasteless in my opinion. The 3rd batch is an all grain Magic Hat #9 clone that is fermenting right now. I have 2.5# of pureed apricots that I will add to a secondary fermenter once it stops "bobbling" in the primary.

I can already see where this will become a hobby that will last!

My first post (after this one) is going to be around asking about the details on making an e-HERMS HLT.

My local home brew supply house is Keystone Homebrew Supply (http://www.keystonehomebrew.com/). I am very lucky as these folks have proven to very helpful. Every time I leave there with supplies they say to call during my brew session if I have any questions. I have taken them up on this and they have been very helpful!
