After bottling with 12 oz and 22oz beer bottles I've found a new supply for bottles. San Pellegrino sparkling water bottles. These 16.9 oz green bottles are plentiful and nice looking. The labels come off easy and the glue comes off with hot soapy water. I think they will give my cider a unique look. Light is not an issue for me because I store my cider in the dark in my basement.

Cider doesn't skunk anyway. It is sulpher compounds in hops that react with UV light to skunk a beer. No hops = no skunk.

Are you finding these at a local grocery? Anytime I see S. Pellegrino, it's in the 750mL bottle with a tall twist off lid.

On a related note, I have seen Acqua Panna in 1L clear pry off bottles, but the only place that I can get them is Olive Garden (which will not save them for you, citing some sanitation issue), or online via a foodservice supply company.
