I was went to my son's college crew regatta in Allentown, PA this morning and was strangely attracted to this building next to the riverfront. Allentown is run down as you imagine but this factory was clearly a source of pride at one point.
Turns out it was a brewery! Of course! It was one of the biggest breweries in the country at one point, though it never had national distribution. It opened in 1911, survived prohibition and closed in 1968. Their slogan was a corruption of the German words "Nichts Besser" and ultimately was completely translated to "None Better Anywhere!"
This site has all the dope.
P.S. Since we are all are into control panel porn lately, check this out:
It obviously not a production control panel. It was a training panel for the refrigeration systems.
