I have never had a sour. Would like to try some. I need a recommendation. Something that is easy obtained and not too sour. Break me in easy. Going out to eat with the family and there is a total wine and bevmo near buy.

I would recommend a Rodenbach Grand Cru.

It's mild-medium sour and well balanced. It's a break-in sour for sure that doesn't break the bank (and is usually available).

Maybe a Gose? They have some salt in them to balance the acid. They're not salty, just enough to offset.

+1 on the Monks Cafe ^. Good stuff!

Duchesse de Bourgogne is another good approachable sour; it has many of the typical flavors, but enough residual sweetness that the sourness isn't overwhelming (I'll +1 the Monk's Cafe and Rodenbach for the same reason).

Ok so we ended up going to the Yardhouse for dinner. They have like 120-130 beers on tap. I got to try dogfish120 which I thought was very good but the also had a few sours on the menu. I got a sampler of Borgogne des Flanders which I thought was great. Sweet smell slightly sour upfront but sweet finish. Then we went to total wine and I found the Monks Cafe and the Rodenbach Grand Cru

Thanks for the recommendations.
