I have finally received permission from the wifey to convert or freezer into a keezer. Here is the problem though, it is a small one, like really small. It looks like a mini fridge only a little bigger, it has the hump on one side for the compresser, where the hump is I only have 19 inches of clearance from the lid. now I know that a corny keg is 23 inches by its self, my question is how much clearance is needed for the corny, the hookups, and the lines. I will be building a collar and I was just trying to figure out what size I need to make it so the lid will shut and not crimp or damage the lines. Thanks in advance for all the help. :rockin: this place rocks!!!!

I have 12 cornies and their all 25" tall. I would give it another 1.5" of clearance to be safe.

I am also looking to build a keezer. Does anyone know the approximate diameter of a corny keg? I'm trying to figure out what size fridge/freezer to buy.

Awesome. I'll have to make a cardboard cutout 8.5" around, and cut a stick to 26.5" tall and go to Home Depot or something... Thanks!

ball lock cornies are 25" tall by 8.5" diameter and Pin lock cornies are 23" tall and 9" diameter. Make sure you size for the kind of cornies you are going to use.
