did a brew day a couple weeks ago started out inocent enough sitting around having a coulpe of brews crusing the the differant brew sites when it hit me a need to brew something
i had every thing to brew a batch a had been to the local brew store bought every thing for a 10 gal batch (was planing a brew party but it fell through)
i didnt want to do a full 10gal batch so i pulled out my scale only to find out it was broke oh well i can eye ball it and be prety close i have only had a couple of beers (4 or 5) so i eye balled every thing out as my water heated
oh i should tell you that at the local brew store if you buy the 24# malt pale the give you a break on the price so i through the grains in let then step then heat it up i grab my malt pale needing only 10 pound i through in half the bucket or so and think i should kick it up a notch so i toss in alittle bit more what ould it hurt (i had for got that it was a 24# pale) then comes the time for the hops i put in 2 oz of perl
as it called for as i went over to the fridge needing a refreshment i see i have some hops left over some cascade and wilamate may be an oz of each so i take 3/4 of each and give them a toss keeping the rest for flavoring.
i toss the flavoring hops in 1 oz of perle and the rest of the cascade and wilamte. so all goes well i let it cool pull a sample and take a reading 1.116 need to say i missed the og a little bit was it was supose to be 1.056 it femented for a little over 2 weeks and got down to 1.035 12%
so with the back story out ofthe way how long should i let it age its been a week has some nice carbonation going it has a slight hint of alcohol tastin the end over all considering its not bad will be an alright beer wont win any awards unless F#$% UP THE YEAR IS ON THE PLATE anyone has any suggestions
