LMAO! Tilt my nose huh... thanks. Just to be clear, I've waited 12 years to buy a car of this caliber...been driving used honda's and nissan's, and putting money away when I deploy--and just want to be sure it is the best purchase for my needs.

I have no doubt I will enjoy the cadillac... but can I buy it fully loaded for under $60K? Probably not...HOWEVER, I can do that with a BMW/Audi being military in europe.

yeah, that's wildwest - even when you take his advice, he's still condescending!

Driver error, it's faster on the Nürburgring with real drivers.

wow!!!! tell me wildwest, what's the best beer, based on your recent TV commercial viewing?

What's the matter moto, run of of witticisms in the football trash talk thread?

$0... the govt ships 1 vehicle free of charge. Or, it gets shipped to a dealership in the states for $875... which they can waive if I negotiate right.

The M3 with the auto tranny(faster 0-60)... is 54k.
That means I don't lose any equity driving it off the lot. The deal is the best you can get on any German cars...

Sounds like your mind is made up, enjoy. Since the shipping is on me, I want a ride when it gets back here. Huntsville is only 2 hours from here.

Shipping is on me too... we all pay taxes my friend. Just remember that I'm protecting your right to that freedom of speech you exercise so well. :mug:

I'll be living in Boston when I get back... but you're welcome to come up. Share a couple of homebrews, etc.

I had a dream about the M3... Is that bad? :drunk:

Oh man! totally forgot about that SNL skit... haha... thanks for that wildwest.

Well, I just found out about the new VW GTI Quattro (AWD) w/ 260 hp, and a 4 banger. It gets damn near 30mpg on the highway.

Fudge!

It comes fully loaded for less than $40K--if the test drive isn't like riding in a Go Kart it may be a player... I loved the 2008 GTI I test drove.

MY PROBLEM: I want everything...

Guess that's why I brew beer?

We got ourselves a 1%er here.

I recommend you save your money, get a late 90's nissan or honda and invest the money you would have wasted on a car that will probably not get you laid (because there is only 2 cars on that list that would impress a woman enough to drop her pantaloneys) in my theoretical brewery.

While I disagree with that completely...there's a point in there. Get a late 90s Skyline GTR since you might be able to find one overseas or a honda NSX. As much as I love the new GTR for what it can do, I'd prefer to get my hands on a previous generation GTR.

I could be wrong/misunderstanding news I've heard on it but the Skylines of the 90's are illegal for use on US roads and the government is starting to crackdown on people that own them and just show up and confiscate them. Check out jalopnik.com because I'm too lazy to look it up for you but yeah wouldn't invest in one of those unless you were planning on taking out only on a track.

KICK HIS ASS SEA BASS

Nice list! I can only speculate but the M3 is probably the best car on the list. It's the car that so many others aspire to be.
Godzilla would be awesome too.

do not buy a VW.

oh, wildwest, my taxes paid for your roads. please carve up my chunk and mail it to me.

deeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

You pay taxes on welfare? It's surprising you're not smart enough to decipher sarcasm on the internet.

Figures... my very first post in the home brew forums, and it's related to cars.

I just joined up because I got my first beer kit, and can't wait to make my first batch. Yet, I somehow stumble into a discussion about cars...

Oh well.

OP, your original choices are all fun to drive but each is fun for a different reason. If you want to be the fastest person down a canyon road or on the track, get a GT-R. If you want to be able to cruise comfortable for many miles at high speeds, get the S5. If you want to enjoy tail-out, high-horsepower, rear-wheel-drive 'Murican fun, get the Z06. If you want the same thing, but prefer the Ford badge, get the GT500 (but wait for the 2013 model). If you want to split the difference between GT-R precision and Z06 ass-hanging, get the M3. If you want to cruise your local main street in the purest example of an updated classic for modern times, get the Challenger.

ALL choices are exciting and a blast to drive.

(Even the Volt is a bit exciting to drive (surprisingly)... and no, it won't burn down your house - but exciting in a very different way from the vehicles listed)
