need help - hop leaves keep turning brown

HI. I have some hop plants that start to grow then the leaves turn brown and die. and this keeps continuing in a cycle. Ive attached 2 pictures. thank you for your help!

Looks like a water issue to me. Since they are in a pot, you need to make sure that they have good drainage, but never dry out completely. What size is that container?

Do you mean too much or too little water? Im not sure how big it is. its pretty big for a pot. ill have to ask my boyfriend.

If those are lower leaves and the plant is throwing burrs this is normal. If there are no burrs yet then just give the plant a little bit of fertilizer.
