A while back I found a thread here regarding a different way to do the mash-in process. To summarize (as best I can) the grain is added to the Mash Tun before water is put into the tun, then water is pumped into the bottom of the tun to do the mash-in. I thought the thread was interesting, maybe I will use it some day and moved on. Well, I think that "someday" has come and I would really like to try in on my next brew. Of course, I can't find the thread now (I did a search under "Mash") and have no idea how to locate the thread.
If anyone can point my way to it I would really appreciate.

Thanks

I've found it easier to find threads on this site using Google, you might want to try using that. Good luck!

Yes it is!

It's helpful to include homebrewtalk.com (italics not needed ;)) in the search string. Doing so will limit the search to our site only!

Correction:
As @Deadalus pointed out in post #8 the prefix "site:" should be included, making the correct search string:
underlet site:homebrewtalk.com

or:
underletting site:homebrewtalk.com

Yes, although I tend to just click 'see more results from homebrewtalk' once there's results from here but if I were looking for a specific thread that would be best.
I found this out by accident. On a few occasions I'd searched for information about using specific yeasts or other ingredients several times here, then still not finding anything useful Googled it. Up come results from this site that are just what I was looking for! I think why weren't they there when I spent night after night scrolling through page after page of results on the forum? So now it's straight to Google!

That process is called under letting and it is not complicated enough to pull ones hair out to find an old thread. You've already described it perfectly.

The best way to find your thread is to keep it all together in an organizer:

Note: The Op was answered April 2... Even when I've done it myself, I always get a kick out of thread ressurections when no-one seems to notice the dates. :p
