I have the opportunity to pick up a jacketed steam Kettle for super cheap. It is a natural gas one. Can it be converted to use propane quickly easily and cheaply?
I am a licensed gas fitter in Ontario Canada. Often a NG to LP conversion requires new orifices in the burner and possibly a new spring in gas valve. The only way you could know for sure is to contact the manufacturer and see if they sell a kit to convert. Or talk to a local gas fitter who has done conversions to steer you in the right direction.
Ive done a few LP to NG conversions on BBQs. it's not just the connection fittings that change... because of the variance in the density of the gas, restricters are added before the burners. In your case you'd be doing the reverse, trying to open it up.
