I'm ready to brew my second batch of beer and I forgot to buy a scale. . .my buddies gonna be here soon. . .can anybody give me a rough estimate of approximately how many pellets it takes to make 1/2 oz.

Thanks a lot in advance. . .oh and did I mention this is embarrasing. . .if I didn't it is!!!

Approximately 2 tablespoons will get you pretty close. It doesnt need to be precise.

Fold a dollar bill in thirds, cover with a single layer of pellets. They are hard to count because the size varies.

Thanks alot guys. . .I didn't think that it needed to be super precise, but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't off-base on my thinking. I checked out an online conversion website and it said 1/2 oz. equals 1 tablespoon. . .think I'll go with 1 1/2 tablespoons that way it's not too little and it's not too much. . .I'm brewing a Hefewiezen so I don't want to use too much hops.

Thanks again guys!!! Big help!

i buy hops between 1 and 4 oz. I don't have a scale, i just guestimate. If it is a 4 oz. package and i need two ounces, i just dump in half or closest i can get. i usually add the rest in for aroma anyways, so it all gets used.
