Okay,
I'm all set to go...
3 batches in the works today.
Unfortunately, I didn't plan as well as I had thought.
I've got several Apfelweins going, which are using up all of my airlocks.
I'm in need of two more to complete the day's task.
ANY idea if someone other than a homebrew supply would carry them?
HomeDepot, Lowes??? Open for any ideas... I want to avoid the 2 hour delay the drive would take.
Thanks!

Airlock shmairlock! During primary i feel you can cover w/ foil or saran wrap. Are you using a pail or a carboy? I tend to just seal it up well and get it to the keg before too long.

Extended aging, sure use an airlock. regular gravity brew single stage...I wouldn't be too concerned.

I use the saran wrap, then a piece of foil, then a rubber band around the carboy. Leaks enough for the co2 to escape, not sure but I really doubt much o2 is getting in there. Through the early stages of fermentation, the brew is offgasing anyways.

I'm using a carboy.
Man, I wasn't even thinking about the blowoff hose.
Never used one but I have the goods to get the job done.
You guys ROCK!

I was in same boat today. 2 carboys with apfelwein , 3 batches to do, and one short on airlocks. Ran up to Menards spent 2.50 on some tubing and made blow off tube. Worked great.
