NOOB mistake - I ran out of One Step mid batch and grabbed CraftMeisters Oxygen Brewery Wash to finish up cleaning and sanitizing. "Assuming" it was the same as One Step - didn't read the directions, and didn't rinse.

Should I toss my batch and start over? Would hate to "poison" someone, myself included! It is a one gallon batch of Northern Brewer White House Honey Porter that is fermenting nicely - maybe too nicely as I have changed out the blow tube bottle twice - today - one day after brewing.

Advice?

How much was in there? It's likely a sodium percarbonate cleaner like oxiclean or PBW, which isn't good for you, but if there's only a small amount it's unlikely to do much more than make the beer taste soapy. I am not a doctor, but if there was only a light residue and the beer doesn't taste like soap, I'd say it's safe to drink.

"When sodium percarbonate is getting into contact with body fluids it will dissociate into hydrogen peroxide, carbonate and sodium ions which are all naturally present in the human body." Hydrogen peroxide dissociates into water and oxygen gas. Source: http://www.inchem.org/documents/sids/sids/15630894.pdf
