Has anyone brewed both NCBeernut's Deception Cream Stout (all grain version) and Yooper's Oatmeal Stout? My wife and I would like a stout that is a bit sweet and thick. Both of these look good. Thanks!

Made both these beers. Both all grain. Both good. But for "a bit sweet and thick"? I found Yooper's Oatmeal Stout to be the winner between these two.

Great! Thank you for sharing the info on that! Taking notes

Hi, new to the forums, would love to see these all grain recipes, but having trouble finding them....can you provide or point me where to find them? Thanks

Click on the RECIPES hotspot in the ribbon atop this page, then select Homebrew Ale Recipes to get into the listings. Right now the Deception Cream Stout is near the top of the first page of listings, while you'd have to use the Search - This Forum widget at the top-right of the page and enter the better part of the desired recipe name, in this case for Yooper's Oatmeal Stout, which you'll find here.

Cheers!

@day_trippr beat me too it! The HBT search box let's you search by "member" name, which helps narrow down "Oatmeal Stout" to Yooper's version for instance...

Also a google search with "site:homebrewtalk.com" added to the end can be useful... eg using "yooper's oatmeal stout site:homebrewtalk.com" in the google search bar gives the recipe as the 1st hit.

thanks. ABV on the Deception recipe is not shown, but assume it is proably aroung 5%. 30 days fermenting seems long?

The ABV isn't written, but the predicted OG and FG are written, which would come out to 4.99% ABV, so yeah, 5%.

One of the things I like about HomebrewTalk is that when someone asks a question like this, the response is the requested links and some advice on the forum interface.
