My wife is getting me a NG burner for christmas so I can just run some pipe from our house to behind the garage. Anyways I've found this burner which seems nice but I'm kinda shooting in the dark. Tried a couple searches on the board but couldn't find anything really... So any suggestions on what you'd get if you had the option?

If the link doesn't work, it's a 23 Tip Round Nozzle Jet Burner (Natural Gas) with what looks like black iron body and brass nozzle tips.
Jet Burner, Round Shape Tip--23 Tips 1/2" Pipe 100,000 BTU/HR (natural gas)
$24.95

How does that sound?

Though there are a bunch of people who don't think the multijet is the best choice. I would probably go with the Hurricane burner with the NG conversion fitting.

agreed. while the wok burners look cool, they seem to char my pot more than anything... plus it takes nearly 45 minutes to go full boil on 6 gallon of water (starting at 55 degrees).

So ya'll would suggest getting the hurricane burner with the ng conversion valve? I want to make sure I'm not just making more trouble for myself if I go with ng by buying a cheapie pain in the ask burner. I'd prefer using ng rather than lp first, convenience and ease of use, second, it's cheaper! Cheap beer is one of my motivations for beginning this journey. I mean how can ya beat a day's work to brew, half a day to rack and bottle to get $0.50 beers. When something equivalent would cost around $1.50 to $2.00 per beer from the store! Sure I'm gonna end up spending hundreds on equipment but if I'll make up the difference over a year then I'm all for it, plus I like knowing what all is going into the beer I drink.

Thanks for the responses guys! I really appreciate it!

Anyone know where to find the Hurricane burners? Northern Brewer took them off of their site and every other site has been out of stock in Aug/Sept.

What part of Louisana are you from? I'm from New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

While I don't think the wok burners are ideal, you're probably having a harder time with them than I ever did. My problem was too much heat, not too little.

Orifice/valve. I'm not sure if it's already sized for NG or not, but it could be progressively drilled out if necessary.

Did you switch out the burners on your rig or are you still using the multi-jet burners?

I considered Hurricane burners but to me they seem big. I'm currently using the smaller Bayou Classic burners but have read they don't make the switch to NG very well after replacing the orifice.

Every move I make on my rig or equipment is slow. I do plan to buy a hurricane and try it out but as of now I'm still using the wok burners. They get the job done but it was a learning curve figuring out the low flame limit before it gets nasty. Sometimes it burns nice for a while then needs adjusting mid boil. Annoying but workable.

I'm "from" Dallas TX, but I live in louisiana out in the sticks. central/north-central kinda in the middle of nowhere. I'm an hour and a half from all three of these cities Shreveport, Monroe, and Alexandria.

I have seen some nice brew rigs on here with natural gas and all sorts of valves to control the flow but what is needed to control how much gas is given with Natural gas. I don't see regulators sold and it seems like it is a DYI only thing.

Like on NickStecks rig.

Which nozzle/regulator would you need with that hurricane burner?
