I did my Brooklyn Summer Ale clone. First time doing a full size BIAB, got 84% eff as opposed to my normal 70-75% (converted cooler MLT/double batch sparge), so this Summer Ale is going to be a 7.2 ABV monster. Guess I need to adjust my grain bill for BIAB, huh? :drunk:

I switched to AG last December and I'm still trying to get a handle on my efficiency. It's pretty high75%+. You might want to get a few more batches brewed to make sure it is 84%.

Of course. I've been doing AG for about a year and a half on my current system so I'm dialed enough with that to get consistent eff #'s. I am just starting with full-size BIAB. I've been doing 2.5 gal test batches with BIAB for over a year but those have been batch sparged using multiple pots.

This past weekend was my first single-kettle, total-water-volume-in-the-pot, no-sparge 5 gallon batch. I was just really surprised by the numbers (was expecting a drop in efficiency). Obviously I will do several more to see if this one was a fluke before adjusting grain bills. Guess I'll have to knock another batch out Thursday to see what happens. ;)
