I've made the mistake of just booking a room because it was close to where I wanted to be before, and thought I was gonna get stabbed one night. I figured I would go for the inside track on this one. Stupid Hotel LaSalle in New Orleans

Yeah... I wouldn't plan to stay at any of those hotels over on Aurora Ave (just barely North of Greenlake)... Although it's been cleaned up quite a bit, most of those hotels used to have hourly rates from what I understand.

I think they have cleaned it up, but I still hear about prostitution stings going on in that area. I suppose you could stay there if you don't mind the noise.

On a more serious note, he's right, it would also (in addition to the other issues on Aurora) be very noisy.
