Just got done brewing my first batch of all-grain and it went really well! Beer is sitting happily in the fermenter right now. Definitely have some adjustments to make for the next time to make things easier but I hit a brew-house efficiency of 78%! Just want to thank everyone for the great info that is provided here and if anyone is one the fence about making the jump from extract I say go for it, it was a great experience to know I am making this beer directly from grain! :ban:

yep great feeling for sure. Been graining for about two years now. Saison was the only batch i didn't care for. 38 ten gallon batches so far. Gets smoother operational wise every time. You fly sparging?

No, doing a batch sparge. Single infusion, single sparge. 10 gallon cooler with a bazooka screen.

Seems to be the most popular method. Batch that is. Less equipment i assume. Never batch sparged went directly to Fly sparging on my first batch of beer. Never used DME or LME before, my very first beer was all grain. Never bottled either. So not sure how all that works. Congrats !

I remember the feeling. I think my first all grain brew day was when I really became obsessed with brewing.

That's pretty awesome, I made the long journey from stove top partial boils with extract and bottling, eventually doing full boil outside with extract and kegging. Couldn't imagine doing the jump in full force, good on you for that!
