Has anybody ever had the brass (or whatever kind of metal it is) collar pull apart from the main wing body of the capper? I was about a dozen or so bottles in to a batch when the collar broke loose and came off. I took the capper apart and it appears that the collar is pressed into the plastic wing body. Has this happened to you? Also, I'm now looking for a more reliable bench capper in case somebody has any suggestions...

Any bench capper will be a step up from a wing capper. I have been using this one for about 5 years and have few complaints. http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/colonna-bench-capper.html . The only complaint I have about it is that if you are capping bottles of different heights in the same session, you have to move the plate up and down to fit the bottles. If you only use one size of bottle, then I think this capper is damn near perfect.
