I recently had to take a week off from work, so we could upgrade our database systems. With my time off, I volunteered all week at a local microbrewery. My friend, who writes at local culture blog, thought my experiences would make an interesting article and got me in touch with her editor. It was finally published last night.

Just wanted to share!

Man,that's a great story! What a way to spend a down week. Makes me wish I was young enough to still be able to. Looked like work, but when you love what you do it isn't quite work anymore.

It was a lot of manual labor but I enjoyed every minute of it. I was also able to pick up a few tricks for my own setup.

I try to volunteer weekly at one here in Birmingham AL. No matter how tired you are at the end of the day, it's still a good feeling coming home smelling like spent grains, wort and sanitizer!
