I brew outside, just inside the roll up door on my shop. I tried a couple extract kits inside this winter and hated it. Thus, I’m outside with the pine pollen flying, dipping maple helicopters out of my kettle with a big smile on my face! Cheers!

I bought a kegerator from a guy that had the most ingenious setup I have ever seen. He had been brewing on his carport, just inside the rollup door as I do at my shop. However, he got tired of dealing with the bugs, bees, etc. and framed up a screen wall with a walkthrough screen door inside the rollup doorway. So now, when he raises his garage door, there’s a screen wall there. Obviously, he can’t pull a car in there now, but this space was complete with his whole brewing setup, refrigerators, canning machine, and a fully outfitted bar with stools off to one side! It was the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen; even had nice rugs on the floor!if i ever do build my brew shack, a small porch might be nice to have for brewing on nice days...![]()
