My friend's dad just dropped off a 50# CO2 tank for me! It was hrdro tested 5 months ago and is FULL.

Question: If the 20# tank I have hooked up to the tap fridge has been going for a year and pushed 30 to 40 kegs with little to no drop in psi......how many 5 gallon kegs will a 50# tank push???!!!

Yeah, you read right, the 20# tank has been holding at 800 psi for a very long time. I even turn the tank off, bleed the line and turn back on to see if the guage is stuck! Could this be a magic tank???

you obviously need to drink some more beer. That 50# tank is going to last you a looooong time

we had a 75# bottle fitted with a drop tube so that we could refill CO2 fire extinguishers about ten years ago. we stopped refilling those in '95, so it's just sat idle. I just dropped that sucker off a few days ago in order to get tested and filled.

Nice score!!! That thing is going to last you years (unless, of course, you get a leak!!!)

Your regulator won't register a drop in psi until all of the liquid CO2 in the tank has turned to gas. In other words, it won't show a drop until you're just about out of gas.

Exactly. The only way to know how much CO2 you have left is to weigh the tank - otherwise you just have to keep an eye on it, and when the pressure starts to drop it's just about empty.
