My Hop Garden

I spent my Easter weekend building and hoisting this trellis. Planning to plant 4 cascade and 2 nugget rhizomes, 3 on each side with 3 foot spacing.

Next up is digging the hole for the rhizomes adding some compost and manure and stringing the twine

I have three Northern Brewer and one Kent Golding. Three out of the four are showing signs of life. Second year in this garden. Transplanted after one season. I was beginning to wonder if they survived the winter. The wind currents through my yard are such I just couldn't keep any leaves on them. Plus, my neighbor complained about all the leaves coming out of my yard during the winter I just gave up on keeping them covered.
