So I've read about these several times on here. I usually get so caught up in my brew day however, that I forget all about it till it's all over. Today I remembered so I took a little of the first runnings and threw in a shot of bourbon (I'm not a scotch guy). It was interesting to say the least but not bad by any means. It might just have to become a brew day tradition!

Depends on how you like it - 50:50 works for me!

Tullamore Dew 12 year or Four Roses bourbon are my go to's.

I enjoy them with bourbon and even rum in a pinch, but scotch is better since it tends to be less sweet. Still damn good no matter how you cut jt.

I tried my first Hot Scotchy a couple weeks back, used Johnnie Walker Red (probably a mistake)... it was "ok". Look forward to trying one again with a better quality Scotch.

I might have to try this with some Sink the Bismarck I have sitting on my shelf.... beer for beer
