It has been 13 days and my hydrometer reads 1.018 started at 1.060. I know I need to take another reading in a few days but man this tastes good. ( clouldn't just dump the sample could I?)

Don't dump the sample. Even our flat warm beer tastes good.

SWMBO won't drink anything until it's carbonated, but that's her thing. I need to (and want to) see how the beer progresses. And to me, it tastes good at every point of the process, whether it's "done" or not.
 
I love sample day. After tasting I get either real excited or real worried about my batch.
Usually they turn out great in the end.
