Since it appears nobody is reading the thread any longer and it provides me with a record of songs I love I will keep posting.

I've taken my original thread off track that's for sure. Now I'm going to derail it once again.

Here's a live performance from guitar and harmonica player Neil Young. Honest and uncut.

Not to bring every body down. But this one has my vote for the saddest song ever written/sung.

Vern Gosdin: Chiseled In Stone.

I'll second your vote! Real sad song.

The profound words of an elder, a person with a lifetime of experience can sure give our understanding of hardship a different perspective.

This is not the Debate forum so let's not start one please.

A very nice tribute to President Reagan on YouTube. Background music from Willie Nelson.

Thank you MullinsMovies!

MullinsMovies made this tribute and explains why.

The day after Reagan passed away, I gathered several of his best quotes and placed them in a song that I think summed up the way most Americans viewed him: a strong, independent, freedom-loving gentleman. Ronald Reagan, for me, was the consummate, iconic American hero... and I sure do miss him. Enjoy.
Happy 99th birthday, Mr. President!

I hope to move back to Hawaii soon. Please enjoy this video. It is sung in Hawaiian but I put the english translations below. Doesn't sound quite the same. :)

EDIT Help from those who understand the Hawaiian language and can translate it to English a lot better than I did. I'll put the words in Hawaiian at the bottom of this page. Help please if you can.

KA ULUWEHI O KE KAI :

TRANSLATION:
THE PLANTS OF THE SEA

Such a delight it is to see
The great big ocean,
So familiar and very cherished
With its fragrance of the lipoa

It is lipoa which washes ashore
Onto the shiny white sand
Hot from the heating sun as you step on it
Don't think that this is fun!

How enticing is the display of limu kohu
Atop the rocks in the ocean,
Enticing one to pick them
As they sway to and fro

KA ULUWEHI O KE KAI

He ho‘oheno ke ike aku
Ke kai moana nui la
Nui ke aloha e hi‘ipoi nei
Me ke ‘ala o ka lipoa

He lipoa i pae i ke one
Ke one hinuhinu la
Wela i ka la ke hehi a‘e
Mai mana‘o he pono keia!

Ho‘okohukohu e ka limu kohu
Ke kau i luna o na moku la
‘O ia maku ‘ula la e ho
‘Oni ana i ‘oi anei

This song is sung in Hawaiian. About the only thing I know how to say in Hawaiian is Aloha and Mahalo. Would be nice to know the words that go to this song of course. But the music and sounds of words are heavenly. I believe sung with a lot of heartfelt love and that's all I need to hear.

A beautiful Hawaiian song sung by I believe Brother IZ. Please correct me if I'm wrong about that. And if you can translate it into English please do, I couldn't.

"Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai" by Hapa (Hawaiian Music)

Greatest Country song EVER!!!

I kind of want to shoot myself for saying that, but figuring Dan ruined this thread by putting Iz and Queen in it (Whom both I like on their own accord, don't get me wrong) Figure I'll put some horrible Non Country Country music in here.
