Well I have to say I am hooked. I've brewed three beers and I have already built myself a counterflow chiller. Using this site for help I might add! This rig is unbelievable. It's not pretty but it works like a charm. I almost can't believe it.
This is just a test run but I boiled 3 gallons of water and ran it through the chiller. Counter flow water was only cracked open. Simulated wort was running out at 72 degrees.
Well water - 47 degrees
Simulated wort - 212 degrees and falling (since it was taken off the heat source)
Post Chiller - 72 degrees
Amount of water used to chill - 7 gallons
Time in took to siphon through chiller - approx. 9 minutes
