I've been looking at some of your posts on man caves, bars and the like and felt it nessesary to post pics of mine, since I can't belly up to it anymore.

I completely remodeled the basement of our old house and built what I consider to be a pretty sweet bar. We moved after buying another place about 6 months after I got the remodel done. The new place is a lot bigger and has plenty of room for another bar (which I plan on building as soon as we sell the old place). I just miss having that spot to retreat to. So, in memorium; The bar at the old place:

I was going console you by saying that you can build a new one after learning from past mistakes, but there really is no way to improve on that.

Real nice, it is always cool making a bar! I like it a lot, just have to mention the box of bud light in the back of pic 1 is really getting to me! LOL!

If I looked at a house with that bar sitting there... I'd be pretty much pay whatever they wanted!!

Please be sure to keep us informed of your next building endeavor!

Very nice work! That was definitely a selling feature.

Nice deer too. 12 pts?
Also nice to see a traditional bow.
That was a very nice bar.

Thanks guys.... I'm a sad, sad man.

Underwaterdan....LOL.... yeah, that is funny isn't it? Bud Light....wow! (I assume you are a diver as well?) The cool thing about the new place is it's a lot bigger and has a space perfect for the new bar. We have a loft open to the great room below that measures about 28x20....all of which will be converted to a pub. I have to wait until the old place sells before I get the green light to proceed...but once I do, I'll start a build thread for it.

JVD, the back bar was simply oak plywood dado'd togather...easy as pie.

Grlz, bigger was my thought exactly. :)

Awesome!! Love the wood work

I have to give my father in law credit for getting me the quartersawn oak. He owns a hardwood saw mill. I had some really nicely figured stock to choose from. I'll probably use quartersawn oak for the new bar as well.... it's hard to beat it for beauty that's for sure.

NJ, sorry, I missed the end of your post.

The deer is a 164in (P&Y) 13pt. (sticker on right main beam.) The bow is a Black Widow PSA II. I love that thing.

You a stick and string guy guy as well?

Yeah but you cry like a little girl when your American Idol favorite gets voted off. :p:D:cross:

Oooh, you are so lucky you are a mod, otherwise I'd kick you in the junk until you screamed like a girl. I don't think I've ever watched a single full episode of that stupid ass show.

The only reason I watch Dancing with the Stars is because the SWMBO has it on at bedtime, and I can at least tolerate looking at the fricken hot female dancers.

Awesome deer!
Black widow is a nice bow, just getting into it..

If you know anyone (drinker) in the Sioux City, Iowa area....... show them this thread. I need to sell this house!!!!!! :)

Just getting in to trad. bow. I do compound, shotgun, taking Muzzeloader course this season.

Are those sheds on the top shelf, or other deer you've taken?

Wow.

I don't normally like oak, but dang, you made it look purdy!

Thanks for posting the construction pics. It always helps to see how things are put together.

Nice work!

Nice grain in that oak, hard to find wood cut that way anymore. And officially you are a jerk for having such a nice bar, at least until I get one like it. ;) Good luck selling the house, looking forward to the new bar build. :D
