My Approach to Labels

Simple design. I just wanted to show that you can create effective labels with nothing more than Google Images and MS Paint. What do you think?

As a professional designer, the idea of using Word, Excel, Paint, anything made by MS just makes me cringe. Well executed labels though. There's always another way to do things.

GIMP or Inkscape are both free opensource programs. GIMP is like Photoshop and Inkscape is like Illustrator. I use the Adobe stuff in my home office and for freelancing. The LHBS I work for and do design work for didn't wanna spend the money on the Adobe software so I've been using GIMP and Inkscape there.

I think I finally came up with a logo. I call myself "Quiet Corner Brewing" because I live in the quiet corner of Connecticut. Finding a way to incorporate that into a logo was difficult so I decided on this for a bottle neck label. What do you think?

I would say, that would look pretty cool on some vintage looking clear bottles, but I know how clear bottles for beer are viewed on this board.

I ALWAYS bottle at least 6 clear bottles every batch. I keep them stored out of the sunlight and have never had an issue. I like to be able to see the clarity of my brews. And, yes, the label looks great on a clear bottle!
