Well, I just finished brewing my first lager. Kinda new to AG brewing and did not realize that .5 LBS of chocolate malt would make it so dark but I suppose a dark lager will be ok too...the wort tastes delicious.
8.25 LBS Rahr 2-Row Pale Malt
1.50 LBS 2-Row Caramel Malt-20 SRM
0.50 LBS Pale Chocolate Malt-225 SRM
Mash 45 min @ 156F then straight to 1 hr boil
1.25 OZ Willamette Pellets @ 30 min
1 Smack Pack Wyeast Urquell Lager

Freezer is already set at 48F

Wish me luck!:ban:

Not to be a downer, but, I'd be concerned about under-pitching. I pitch 4 smack packs for a lager (1.050-1.055ish). Don't get me wrong...yours will still ferment and it'll probably be fine, but it's going to take some time. Don't be surprised if you don't see any action for a couple of days. Did you oxygenate heavily? These yeasts are a different animal altogether.

Good luck!
