I've been reading a lot on here about what kind of 120v box I want. So in the pic below you will see it looks quite similar to all the other ones posted on here, but I'm getting excited its about done so i thought I would post mine as well.

It will control both elements in my 12.25g pot. I intend to do 6 gallon BIAB batches with it and since its 120v i should be able to take it with me wherever i want to go brew. There has been some debate about my color scheme but black and grey have been done to death!

In the spot above the temperature controller is a nice little square area for a logo / symbol I will put something in there before I finish it. Right now I've just painted and installed the hardware. I have to wire it up yet.

I having started the wiring yet but here is the diagram i made that i intend to follow. If anyone sees a problem with it please let me know. I think everything should be fine though. I intend to get 2x 1500w elements to put into this thing

Since Mypin has 24V SSR output I'd recommended to connect SSR in series.
And you don't need a jumper between terminals 8 and 9 unless your PT probe has only 2 wires.

I finally wired this thing according to the diagram with the exception that I used a standard K thermocouple instead of a RTD. I built two 120v lights to plug into the outlets that way I can test and see how this things going ot work.

What I am seeing confuses me. The light is on all the time but when the PID kicks on the SSR then the light gets brighter. ( I tried this wiht a different light and it worked as expected with the light on and off corresponding to the on and of of the out LED on the controller.) Is this light ive used no good? Something seems wierd here.

In the other switch (right one on the diagram) I see the same thing.. regardless of the switched being flipped on or off. I broke the tab connecting the switch to the outlet so Im not sure why i see that.

I have a hot wire going from the source, to the switch hot side, then coming out of the switch white side and into the SSR. From there it comes out of the SSR into the hot side of the outlet and out of the outlet white side to the neutral.

Any help is appreciated.

lokks like you've tested it with no load connected. if so what you've seen is OK. SSR is leaking some very small amount off current, but its enugh to lit an LED if no load connected. Connect an incandescent lamp and repeat a testing.

That makes sense. I will have to rig something that I will have some resistance to it so I can test again if it will work.

Im ordering the stuff to finish my pot.. now im getting pretty excited. I am hoping within a couple weeks ill be good to go.

Works like it should.. I tested it on my wife's lamps.. The only thing odd is that element 2 isn't controlled by its switch.. Regardless of switch position it is on when element 1 is on.
