Mugwort and scotch ale?

ive been aware of the psychotropic benefits of mugwort for a long time... however i just recently discovered that it was used in brewing long before hops became a more popular flavoring agent. i just went to secondary on my Skull splitter scotch ale and am eagerly awaiting the outcome. and if it is as awesome as i think it might be, i will probably brew another, but i would like to try some mugwort to attain a more traditional scotch ale. does anyone have any suggestions?

I can't recommend it because it contains thujone, which is toxic. I don't even know how one would get it.

I think thujone is the reason he wants to use it. Personally, I'd avoid it as well. There's a reason that traditional absinthe is no longer available.

traditional absinthe is made with wormwood as well, and is commercially available in Europe and in Canada. Mugwort is available at many of the online supply stores along with wormwood, sweet gale, heather and other gruit herbs. They haven't killed or incapacitated me yet.

The stuff that's called "traditional" absinthe these days is under much higher scrutiny than before. As I understand, wormwood doesn't always contain thujone.
