So here's the deal. I placed 3 orders Monday night... Austin Homebrew, MoreBeer and HopsDirect.

I have yet to here anything tracking wise from hopsdirect, but I'm not concerned since it was only 25$ or so worth

Austin Homebrew has my package here tomorrow, and tracking shows it is already here in my location in MS.

So thats great and all, but MoreBeer hasn't even shipped my item. It still says "Order Processing" on their site.

This is my second order from them and it's just like the first. When I originally got my setup I ordered their Deluxe Kit. It took 10 days to get from CA to MS.

I know the shipping is free and all, but Austin Homebrew always gets my order out same day or next day if its ordered late.

I've been solely using AHB, but MoreBeer had the diffusion(aeration) stones I wanted and I ended up getting 3, but had to order other stuff just to get my order to 60$

Anyone else had experiences like this with MoreBeer?

I asked them when it was going to ship and this is their response.

Your order will ship in 4 - 5 days from the order date. That is our current tunraround.

If you have any other question please let me know.

Thanks,
Chris Logan

After I get my package I'm going to email them and let know about their competitors and why I'll never order from them again.

I get decent shipping times from B3....but faster then hell from St Patricks and Williams. BTW....I just got the new B3 cataloge in the mail today. Anyone else?

More beer sucks at shipping for sure. I just orderd some stuff that I couldn't get anyplace else that I found.

Over 2 weeks to get it. After a week, I checked on the status of my order on their web site and they had just dated my order as that day a week after I had placed it. It didn't ship until the next day, 8 days after I placed the order.

They've got stuff but don't be in a hurry to get it. I'd only ever order again if it was a unique item that I can't get anywhere else. Poor, Poor service.

Try Norther Brewer. They always ship next day (sometimes same day) and my orders have always arrived within 4 business days (to Texas).

I've only ordered from morebeer once, took about a week and a half to get here. Not super slow, but not impressive either. I'm used to ordering stuff from the west coast on monday and getting it a few days later (for non-beer stuff).

I'll second Austin Homebrew...I've always gotten really fast service from them, even post-Katrina when they thought the shipping routes would be iffy. If I can't make it to my "L"HBS I always use Austin and make my order exceed $60 for the free shipping. I love how you can order your grain bill to the ounce there, as well.

Midwest Supplies has had similar delays. They post that most orders go out with 24 hours, except for Friday-Sunday orders. They also post that Thanksgiving-Christmas orders can take 2-3 days to ship. This summer, they had a problem when they transitioned to a new warehouse.

Of course, this is nothing compared to a recent Amazon order for cooking supplies, including a kitchen scale for my brewing. They said it would take until February 2006 to ship. Needless to say, we are having discussions. :)

Amazon recently gave me a free trial membership in their "Amazon Prime" 2-day shipping program valid until this March. I've only made one order since them and the first item arrived after 7 days and the second arrived around 10, which is slower than what I usually get with standard free shipping. Needless to say, I don't think their trial program is very effective at enticing me to pony up $70-80 or whatever it is for their 2-day shipping program.

Well.. one week after my morebeer order, it has finally shipped... well the billing information was received by UPS. They also changed my order date to 12/12.
I had a brew buddy call and he was about to place an order with them... I said if you want this before 2006 you might want to think twice.
I think if you are in the south or southeast austin homebrew is the best place to order from. I have been very happy with them. I recieved my order 12/8 and everything was perfect. They even threw in a Brew magazine.

Check out www.homebrew.com

They're out of North Carolina. With one exception, they've turned all my orders around within 24 hours (on weekdays, of course). Then I get them the next. Granted, they're fairly close to me, but they won't stall around like B3 does.

Their equipment selection and pricing is so-so, but they've got a good selection of ingredients and recipe kits at very fair prices. Plus, they don't gouge on shipping.
