The last time I had home brew beer before tonight was about twenty years ago. My brother made beer - and it was crap.

Today, I had my first couple of bottles from a beer kit of a Munich Dark that I just made.

In a nutshell - YOWSER!!!!!!!!!!!! Dynamite!!!!!

Being Scottish, and therefore hopelessly cheap, my beer drinking has been pretty haphazard and rather unsatisfying for a number of years. I know I put in my profile that I am in Seattle (because there was no spot for a Canadian address) but I am actually north of Seattle on Vancouver Island in Canada. Here, thanx to the government wanting to cure cancer on the backs of beer drinkers, beer is 16.00 a twelve pack. Ouch.

Now, with the price of the 5 gallons I have sitting around the house - HOLY SCHMOLY!!! I am In!!!!!

Just gotta say - I will be learning and lovin this! Some hobbies are ok, knitting, carving wooden ducks, making used spark plugs into intriguing works of art - but this one - brewing beer - YEP!!!!!

:mug:

Welcome aboard! I'd be brewing like a freak with those retail prices. When I lived in Norway in 1999 beer was $24 - $30 USD a 6-pack. We brewed or distilled every weekend! Beer tax where I live in Germany is 5 euro cents/liter as it is considered a food item!
