Ugggg. I have been up since 4:00am.

Tristan, 3 months old is neither colic (thank god) or otherwise. No, he has a much, much worse affliction. He's a mommah's boy.

For 2 hours I laboured to sooth him. I fed him, swaddled, him, rocked him, cradled him in my arms. Nothing. Final straw I lay him down in his crib and walk away in frustration.

Not a second later Mommah comes in sweeps him up and in 2 minutes flat the wee bairne is back to sleep. She does in 2 minutes what O couldn't in 2 hours.

F%^K! Sh&* G^%D^MM&^

And of course, NOW I CAN"T SLEEP!

Ahh the joys of fatherhood........ Glad mine are past that age. Now I just have to deal with the terrible twos.

I know what you mean. Today is my day off and I was looking forward to sleeping in. Ha! There's none of that with little ones in the house. No sooner did the two youngest get themselves off to school but the eldest's boss phones to see if he wants some overtime today. Kids!

At least I didn't have to change his diaper.....

I am so glad those days are behind me. :D

There are still moments, though. I got home from Philly at 2 am Sunday. At 7, my younger daughter walks in, wakes me up, says, 'I missed you, daddy.' And then heads downstairs.

I never did get back to sleep. But if you have to be woken up, that's the way to do it.:)

For you, being a momma's boy is a blessing. It's way better than being a daddy's boy. My youngest is that way and I always get stuck with getting up with him or taking care of his needs cause he asks for me. My oldest is the opposite, so it's nice.

Now, in the future, just tell the wife she needs to get up with him cause he wants her anyways.

My 7 month old was the same. I could do anything for however long if he was in one of those moods and get no response, Mommy grabs his and Boom out like a light. I just accepted it and realized I'll get my chance to shine at another time. He doesn't get like that too often anymore. He knows when it's bed time and nap times and doesn't fight too much. Well until these damn teeth started, now not even mommy stands a chance.

Yeah. Only trouble is, it's my "shift" for the next 2 weeks.

Mommah has gone back to work and I am off for a few weeks in an effort to keep the bairne out of daycare til he is actually 3 months old (April). So, I get the nights and the mornings/afternoons and then we she gets home she takes over. Until then, the boy is brutal. Apparently, I can't do anything right for the lil dude.

I am still Dadah's boy for the first born and I am fine with that. It's great actually. I just wish it were easier with this one because having an infant in the house is hard enough as it is. 10X worse when the babe favors one over the other.

The real PITA is, I don't do anything differently than does the wife. He just shows a marked diffrence in temperment with her.

GOD, I hope this doesn't carry through to toddlerdom with this one or he and I are gonna bump heads ALOT. Uggg.

It's just that mom's are softer and more nurturing by nature. Nothing you can do if he feels more snuggly with mom. Think about when you were a tiny lad, mom's are for comfort, dad's are for fun and lessons.
