I think I have mold. looks like white spores. how do I know for sure. In second, in glass carboy :confused::confused: Please advise

I'm sure there are at-home test kits you can probably pick up at a hardware store and send to a lab for analysis.

Of course, you could always take a picture, attach it to your post, and some helpful members could give input... :)
 
Tough to tell by the picture. You're ok if it looks like bubbles, but if it looks more like spider webs, you have an infection. Good luck.

Those aren't bubbles with those hairy little legs shooting of the clumps. Different kind of infection than I've seen up to this point.
 
It's a crappy picture....looks like fizzy yeast rafts to me...but really it's too hard to tell from that image.

I like to try to remind folks that it's really HARD to infect beer or get mold on it, unless it's been sitting in a fermenter with a dried airlock for weeks or months.

You need to start from the premise that mold and problems ARE RARE.

If you took basic sanitary precautions, and it's only been a short time in the fermenter, ESPECIALLY if it's your first batch and you have noob nerves....more than likely everything is fine.
