So I tried the swamp cooler method and noticed today there is mold all over the fermenter. I cleaned and sanatized the outside of the lid but the mold is all the way up in the seal of the bucket. Would be advisable to remove the lid and do a good cleaning and what are the odds of this stuff floating in to the beer during transfer to the keg?

since its gotten warmer here I've had the same problem on my last two brews. Anywhere the buckets condensate in the fermentation fridge mold grows. Either way as long as the buckets have a good seal I don't believe the stuff can get into the beer. I spray the outside down with star san before I go to open them when I bottle. I wouldn't open them until you're ready to remove the beer.

Thanks for the input... It's a dunkelweisen that is on week two now. I may just go ahead and throw it in the keg tomorrow and see what happens. I usually taste every week or so to gauge when I will keg but I don't want to risk exposure on this one nor do I want to give any mold that may have gotten in a chance to take hold (this bucket is my one that doesn't have a very good seal).
