I am planning to convert a 48qt Coleman rectangular cooler. I plan to add a kewler kit (such as here http://www.midwestsupplies.com/kewler-kitz-deluxe-conversion-stainless-steel-with-no-barb.html)

The cooler does not have a spigot. I plan to drill through. There is section on the cooler where space was left for a spigot but no hole was drilled.

Does anyone know how large a hole I need to drill? I believe the kewler kit comes with a 1/2" NPT pipe nipple which goes through the hole in the cooler wall. Is 1/2" the OD of the pipe nipple? If so, do use a 1/2" hole saw, smaller larger?

I already have the cooler in the gargage. It sits around unused.

1/2" would be the inside diameter when it comes to measuring anything pipe related. I usually go with a 7/8" hole to get the job done. Hope it helps.:rockin:
