Please help, quick!!

I'm about to bottle a batch of surly cynic and just realized I only have half the amount of corn sugar needed. Can I just sub half the amount of table sugar recommended to make up for it? Or should I just use all table sugar? LHBS is closed and I have no other alternatives on hand.

Thanks for your help

You could I guess, but you'd need to calculate how much table sugar you actually need since the amount required is different depending on what you use.

John Plamer writes:

3/4 cup of corn sugar (4 oz by weight) = 2/3 cup of white sugar = 1 and 1/4 cup dry malt extract for a 5-gallon batch.

Thanks for the affirmation. The recipe called for 2/3C corn sugar or 5/8C table sugar. I had 1/3C corn sugar left so I used 5/16C table sugar to finish it. I dissolved them together in the water and it's cooling as I type.

I wasn't sure if the sugars worked in different ways and would do something funky. We'll see how it turns out in 21 days.....
