I'm sure it'll be fine, but I wanted to check with the fine folks of HBT to get an opinion before I brew today...

I milled my grains strait into my Igloo MLT last night for a batch I'll be brewing in about an hour. Will I lose any flavor/do any harm in general by having crushed ~8 hours ago instead of right before dough in?? Cheers!

You did what???? Are you crazy?!? Just kidding, think about how many kits come with milled grain, and sit around the warehouse for a few days with no appreciable loss of quality. I really doubt 8 hours is anything to worry about.

Not that I'm aware of. I don't have my own mill so I have my LBHS mill my grain when I buy it a day or so before brew day.

not a problem. though i will say, Mill and put in a bucket, then add the grain to your already heated strike water.

Grain added to water = good times.
Water added to grain already in mashtun = doughballs, and no fun.

Had 2 kits sitting for 2 weeks + w/ milled Grains ... missed my OG by 1-2 points, on both ...thought it was because of a 3 gallon boil instead of 2.5

You should be GOLDEN !!!!!

I always try to mill the night before, collect water etc...

and think about how long milled grain stays when being shipped from a place like Austin Homebrew supply...so your beer will be great !

Same here. Just trying to shorten the actual brew day.

I intern at a brewery in pittsburgh and they always mill at the end of the day before they brew in the morning. i think you'll be fine.
