Hi,

I've ordered some milled grain 2 weeks ago, but I do not have the time for a brew day. I read about how to store milled grains and saw that many people put the grains in the freezer. I've also read that many people use a brown bag to store the grain.

My grains are in a "almost-vacuum-packed" bag (Non-english guy writing at the moment, sure everybody will understand). There's a little bit of air in the bag but looks sealed.

How long can I store the grains in this situation if not in the freezer? (Not enough space in the freezer) I'm also waiting for my thermometer so I don't know when I will be able to brew.

Thanks.

As long as they are air tight, they can last for months. Some people have brewed with grains that spent a year in storage without difficulty.

You should be okay if they are vacuum sealed for the most part. You can throw them in the freezer I suppose, but I am no expert on that. I would imagine it wouldn't do any harm to the grain and help it last longer

These are milled.

Either Mid West or Northern Brewer suggested I use them within a month for best freshness.
Doesn't mean they wont be fine beyond that.

Wow, product spam much? Anyway- your english looks fantastic, better than mine. If there's anything you're having trouble getting across (or understanding) in english, shoot me a private message in french and I'll do my best to help.

As for your homebrewing question, it looks like many others have stepped in to answer your question. Cheers et Sante!

Thanks daksin for your help, the funny thing is that I understand almost everything I read in english but I make a lot of mistakes when I write in english.

But...

I don't understand when you ask "product spam much ?" :)

At first I tought I accidently made some kind of promotions about something, read the thread again to finaly understand I must be wrong...
