I know the 'how long does milled grain last' thread has been done a few times but I can't find the answer I'm looking for (I searched, honest!)

I have milled grain that has been kept in airtight containers since about three days after milling. It's been in containers now for about 8 months. Obviously, I would like to have used it before now but some important 'life' stuff got in the way.

What do you reckon? Should I give it a go or get rid of it. Maybe try tasting some to see if it's tastes ok?

I say go for it. I've used ~6 month old grains before and it turned out drinkable. My standards are pretty low though. :)

Sniff test! Does is smell good or is it stale smelling?
Taste test! Does it taste good or is it stale tasting?

If it passes these tests, the next test is tasting the beer it makes. Does the beer made from these grains taste good? If so, send it to me.:D
