I'm heading up to MI next week for vacation, going to Hagar Shores area(near Coloma). I'm planning on hitting up The Livery & Greenbush for sure b/c they are the closet, possibly Founders depending on how patient SWMBO is with me.

When I compare MI to IL on seekabrew I get these back on MI distrib only. I'm a big IPA & DIPA fan so just curious which ones I should look for thanks!

21st Amendment
Arbor [Limited]
August Schell
Bison
Blue Point
Dragonmead
Epic (Utah) [Limited]
Kuhnhenn [Limited]
Little Kings (Christian Moerlein brand)
North Peak
Perrin
Right Brain
Schmohz
Short's
Stoudt's
Thirsty Dog
Voodoo [Limited]
Wolverine [Limited

Thanks!

Shorts Human Lupa Licious IPA, Founders Devil Dancer Triple IPA (Limited but just released), if your going to Greenbush first go for Brother Benjamin Honey DIPA, but they have some good brews. Probably can forget about 21st or Kuhnhenn anything. If you get to Founders have the Sleeper Cell DIPA its a brewery only draft release and one of the best IPAs I have ever had, also Huggys Nuggs all Nugget IPA. Also look for Brewery Vivant Triomphe Belgo IPA and New Holland Mad Hatter or Imperial Hatter (you may be able to scrounge up a bomber from their other Hatter series all IPAs and all limited) And Right Brain Dead Kettle bomber......... phew!
The moral of the story is Michigan is The Craft Beer State. You will have lots of great brews at your fingertips. Enjoy!!!

awesome thanks. i had some devil dancer over the weekend, pretty good, def a strong one. i'm trying to decide what direction to go. i'll prob only have 1 afternoon/evening to hit some of these places up b/c it is an extended family vacation and I know I can't go brewer hopping. So I got it down to possible:

A)Livery & Greenbush
B)New Holland & Saugatuck
C) Founders w/ maybe Vivant or Harmony

I had a few fellow brewers recently make a MI brewery trip so I'm just trying decide which direction to go and try to hit up a few of them! I want to grab a few growlers too so I'm trying to determine which places offer those as well.

B or C are great options. I'm a regular at New Holland (was there tonight) and can tell you if you like IPAs all 8 of their Hatter series IPAs are on tap right now and on Tuesdays you can grab a growler of Mad Hatter for $6. But Founders and Vivant are also world class choices.

My choice from this list would be Founders/Vivant. Perrin is also really good if you have time. Founders will have no shortage of hoppy beers. At Vivant I think I'd go for the Big Red Coq but maybe get a flight so you can also check out their Saison, Tripel, etc. The food is amazing but expensive, I usually just get some truffle fries and call it good. Far as bottles go, probably the one I wouldn't want you to miss is Dark Horse Crooked Tree.

If you have time run up the lakeshore on US 31 to Grand Haven and hit Odd Side Ales. They usually have at least 4 IPA s on tap. They make some big tasty beers. Cant go wrong with founders, shorts, Perrin, or bells.
