Is there any established guidelines for storage of stock sterlizing solutins?
I stored one META sol in a glass canning (jam) jar... and 8 months later the metal lining, and the associated metal underneath, exhibited some interesting behaviour: pictures should follow, but briefly...
Inside:
locally destroyed lining (5~10 mm, circular)
bright yellow liquid formation (5 mm, circular, slightly viscous [?])
flakeing, raised layering of the affected metal area (~10 mm, circular)
small (1~2 mm, circular) balls of white, plastic (detached liner?) floating in the stock solution
Outside:
lable darkening & browning, over the affected area (much > than 10 mm)
raised brown "rust" over area (above affected area wh. is on the inside)
Anyone have any info or similar observations?
I used a fresh sol, not wanting to add metal nor plasticisers etc. to the equipment I was cleaning....
