Hey folks,
this weekend, I broke the plastic spigot on my bottling bucket. No big deal - I've used it for a few years, and it's a cheap part to replace. However, before I could even replace it, I borrowed my friend's brand new bottling bucket, and somehow, through a combination of apparent Herculean Beer Strength and idiocy, managed to break his too (in a different way from the way mine broke).
This got me wondering if there's any standard mod that people use when replacing broken plastic spigots - ie, do you replace it with a more durable spigot - something like what many of us do when converting a cooler to a mash tun, as seen here:
